This One Stumped Us!
You’re here because we found conflicting information about the Jadeite dish you are researching so we’ve documented the conflict here.
Read on to learn how to use this list.
What is this List?
This is the master list of our Jadeite dish research that we are unsure of.
We commonly find conflicting measurements, dates of production, and other oddities among our research. Although we’ve tried to be as thorough as possible, we believe it takes a community to discover the right answers for things that may be lacking a well documented history.
Most Jadeite dishes are 50-90 years old, so it’s understandable some of this Jadeite history has gotten lost, or mixed up over the years.
And although we have a large Jadeite dish collection, we certainly don’t have close to every piece made, and are always eager to discover new information about the history of this glassware.
Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we can’t find a definitive answer even after checking multiple reliable sources.
So here is our list of “I don’t knows” and things that stumped us. This is an ongoing list of anything we’ve published on the website that we’re not sure of.
Why We Made this List
Some Jadeite dish measurements could be off by a ¼ inch, or the production dates may be conflicting. And although that may not seem like a big deal, if you are a new collector at an antique store or auction deciding whether or not to buy a Jadeite dish, not knowing the correct measurements or production dates to identify the correct markings can be a bit unnerving, especially with Jadeite dishes rising in price.
We believe having a master list of conflicting info in one place makes it easier to manage, rather than having unanswered questions scattered across the website.
